Virtual LISD Media Support

Introduced and manage LISD Media Library on Virtual Server and Intranet. Media consists of photography not only taken by myself, but a compilation created by all staff to document students and events throughout the county. Stock photography of local students taken by me, Lenawee school buildings, stock photos used often in marketing brochures and hanging in within the LISD buildings. Over 2,400 versions of the LISD service area logos in different colors and file formats. Marketing templates, style guides, guidelines all combined in common shared locations.

The idea was created directly after the creation of the style guide. The need for holding the templates as I created them and the use of digital imagery also found a need to share and library the media created and collected. With staff needing images for students to introduce locations, lessons, and marketing also needing the images I had taken, the virtual library seems to be the best solution. 7 years later it is still being utilized daily by many staff.

COMMENTS - Chief Justice Marilyn Kelly said, “The communities that have hosted us for these programs have been unfailingly gracious and supportive, and Lenawee County is no exception. The Court thanks Siena Heights University, Lenawee County judges, court staff, and area attorneys, the Lenawee and Monroe Intermediate School Districts, Adrian College, Jackson Community College, and community educators and students for making this event possible. My fellow justices and I are grateful for their efforts.”
Lenawee County 39th Judicial Circuit Judge Margaret M. S. Noe said, “Most citizens have some understanding of what goes on in a trial court; fewer understand the appellate courts. By inviting the Michigan Supreme Court to Lenawee County, we hope students, teachers, parents, and community alike will have a better grasp of the courts and justice system in everyday life.”

Sonja and Deniece,

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I so appreciate having the opportunity to share learning space with the LISD and our Community of Schools. This has been a wonderful experience. Please feel free to call upon me at any time you think I can assist you in working with the students. It is one of my favorite activities.

The video is great, just as I would have expected.

Sincerely, Margaret Noe

REMC Bid Project

The REMC Statewide $AVE (Schools Aggregated Volume in Education) Bid Project is a service of your REMC for the schools of Michigan. The Project aggregates the purchasing power of schools statewide and provides large volume bid prices on a variety of educational resources. Products include: supplies, equipment, software, computer & networking, paper, and catalog discounts. Michigan schools saved over $40 million in 2009.

Since 1977, nearly $500 million has been saved by schools through this REMC statewide project. Savings for 2010 will be available later this year.
This REMC statewide project, established in 1977 by the State Board of Education, complies with State School Code bidding standards, and the project's fiscal agent, Ingham ISD's Board of Education, approves the bid awards.

Each tax dollar saved through this cooperative effort represents another dollar available for additional instructional needs.
